YouTube is rolling out a redesigned Home experience that lets viewers create feeds from written prompts. In an October 22 announcement, TeamYouTube outlined the new discovery tools and changes to navigation in the mobile app.
Describe the videos you want
Eligible viewers can tap the plus button above Home and describe an interest or mood. The resulting feed is saved in the top bar, and its prompt can be edited later. Standard accounts can keep three active custom feeds; Premium members can keep eight. Feeds created on mobile also appear on desktop when the same Google account is used.
Who can try it?
The rollout initially covers English-speaking, signed-in U.S. viewers aged 13 or older with search history enabled. YouTube says it is working on wider availability. Android users outside that group should not expect the controls to appear immediately.
A different route to subscriptions and live video
The mobile Home bar is also gaining Live and Music feeds. Movies & TV appears for eligible paid-content subscribers, while Subscriptions moves into the bar under the shorter name Subs. The practical aim is quicker access to a chosen viewing format.
